Little Bear Peak

Here is our little video from Little Bear. You might also notice in this video there isn’t any POV of my snowboarding down. Ever heard of the Switch Record? Its when you turn your camera off instead of on and then do it again. So every time your think your filming its off and vice versa.

This was Nicky’s favorite 14er so far. I think he liked it because it was so spicy! I was feeling sick from what was probably mild elevation sickness. We had spent the day before riding a storm out in a little backcountry shelter-cabin we heard about from Josh Jespersen. We took off pretty late around 9:30 am, but it was cold enough that we felt good about the conditions.

Check out our pictures and videos. I think they do a good job of showing our route! Enjoy and also, this is a hard one. Be prepared to push past some fear, and sketchy conditions.

We lucky enough to run into Josh Jephersen on our way up who told us about this shelter tucked away in the trees.

Here we have reached the notched at about 12,990'. From here we will traverse the West Ridge a little more than a 1/4 of a mile. The exposure and loose rocks made it fell much longer.

This gives you a sense of the traverse on the West ridge. You can also see our tracks here coming down the hourglass. What a treat it was to be down safely from this peak.
