The JONES brand has created an entire new genre of snowboarding. With the story no longer being just about a season worth of tricks but about the entire experience of the mountains. It’s also helped highlight snowboard mountaineering which is a rouge endeavor and a strong emerging subculture and market within itself.

Our favorite product this year was the 45L Minimalist pack. It is perfect for a couple of nights in the alpine with some big objectives in mind. You can fit all your camp gear in there, and then when your ready to get gnarly use the pack as your avy pack for the day. Learn more here.

Smartwool

Nicky and I live in our long under wear from November to April. Wool is king and our favorite base layers we have ever Fd with is Smartwool.

Smartwool sets a high standard for merino wool and more. The company is chalk full of the dependable layers, reliable socks and more.

Wool is natures fabric. It stinks less, lasts longer, is more environmentally friendly and is an overall superior fabric to man made synthetics.

They also have a two year guarantee on all their socks and i know a few dirtbag’s who could really put that to the test, but the rest of us will probably get a lot longer out of our gear. Check out more on our product review page!
